MCBS ZION PROVINCIAL HOUSE, Kozhikode

History
Zion Region was erected on May 4, 1995, and it was elevated to the status of a province on December 2, 1996. MCBSBhavan, Shimoga was used as the Regional house and Provincial House till the errection of the new house in Kozhikode. About a half-acre of land was purchased on February 2, 1996 in Kozhikode, just opposite to the main gate of the Medical College, with the aim of constructing MCBS Zion Provincial House. A temporary house was built there and it was blessed on 6th June 1996 by Thomas Elavanal, the then Superior General. The new building for the Provincial House was constructed and was blessed by Mar Paul Chittilappilly, bishop of Thamarassery, in the presence of Mar Thomas Elavanal, Bishop of Kalyan on 24th May 2001. At the time of the erection of the Province the area of operation specifically assigned for Zion Province were Archdioceses of Thrissur and Thalassery, and Shimoga Mission. KristuNikethan-MCBS House, Delhi and MCBS Study House, Aluva, also belonged to the Zion Province
PIUS MOUNT ASHRAM, Chempery

History
Pius Mount Ashram, in the Archdiocese of Thalassery, was established in 1956. The chapel was blessed by Mar Sebastian Valloppally, the then Bishop of Thalassery, on 25 May 1959. The chapel was reconstructed during 1984-85. The new building for the novitiate was constructed in 1997 and the Novitiate was erected on 28th May 1997.

SOPHIA ASHRAM, Chathenkottunada

History
Sophia Ashram was meant to help the spiritual as well as social uplift of the people of the area. The first chapel and ashram were blessed on 11th February 1960, by Mar Sebastian Valloppally, the then Bishop of Thalassery. The A. J. John Memorial U. P. School started in 1962 and it was upgraded to a High School in 1976. A new building for the Ashram was constructed during 1984-85. In 1986, when the diocese of Thamarassery was erected, Sophia Ashram came under the jurisdiction of the new diocese. Sophia Parish was erected on 21st March 1993. On 3rd July 2003, Sophia Public School with CBSE syllabus was inaugurated. Later on a new church for the parish was constructed and consecrated. A new building for the Ashram is under construction.

MCBS STUDY HOUSE, Aluva

History
The Study House at Aluva was started in 1961 for the religious and priestly formation of our major seminarians. Its foundation stone was laid by Most Rev. Joseph Parekattil, Archbishop of Ernakulam on 15th August 1960. Ground floor was completed and blessed on 30th may 1961. The chapel was blessed by Archbishop Parekattil in 1964. During 1966-1981 the Generalate of the congregation was functioning from here. An extension of the building was constructed during 1987-88. The parish church was constructed and blessed in the year 2007. The house also was renovated in the year 2008 & 2014. Presently a few of the seminarians of the province do their studies staying at the study house.

SanjoeBhavan, MCBS House, an agricultural farm, at Nanjangud in the diocese of Mandya, was inaugurated on 25th January 1982. The construction of the new building was started on 20th August 1994 and it was blessed on 29th February 2000.

KarunyaNivas, in the diocese of Mananthavady, is a for the vocational training and rehabilitation of the physically handicapped. The land was bought in 1988. The new house for the was blessed by Mar Jacob Thoomkuzhy, the then Bishop of Mananthavady, on 20th May 1991. KarunyaNivas is a Registered Society. (Reg. No. 122 /90).

MCBS HOUSE, Bharatha

History
With a view of extending our ministry to the Diocese of Thrissur and establishing a House of the Congregation there, the land was bought in 1990. The community was entrusted with the pastoral care of the Holy Trinity Parish, Bharatha. The new building for the House was blessed by Mar Joseph Kundukulam, the then Archbishop of Thrissur, on 23rd March 1995.

KRISTU NIKETAN, Delhi

History
In order to have a house of the Congregation in the capital of our country and to participate in the ministry among the Syro - Malabar Catholics there we purchased a flat in Delhi in 1992. It was blessed and inaugurated by Most. Rev. Alan De Lastic on 13th February 1993. In 1996 due to lack of sufficient personnel we left the house and parish to the Archdiocese of Ernakulam. Later, in 2006 we took back the house. In 2007 we were entrusted with a Qurbana Center at Kingsway Camp. In the same year on 14th August it was raised in to a status of a parish and was named as Blessed Sacrament Syro- Malabar parish under the archdiocese of Delhi. On 9th August 2015 St. Alphonsa Parish Shabad under the diocese of Faridabad was entrusted to us. Fr. Thomas Puthumanakunath has been appointed as the first vicar of this parish.

ST. MARY’S MINOR SEMINARY, Pariyaram

History
In view of the future division of the Congregation into Provinces it was decided to have a minor seminary in the northern part of Kerala, and about 10 acres of land was purchased at Pariyaram in 1993. The seminary started to function from 30th June 1994. The new building of the seminary was blessed and formally inaugurated by Mar George Valiyamattam, the then Archbishop of Thalassery, on 30th May 1995. In 1997 about 12 acres of Rubber plantation was also purchased as a source of income for the seminary. The cemetery for the members of Zion Province is located within the premise of MCBS minor seminary, Pariyaram.
MCBS HOUSE, Mettippadam (Mechira)

History
The first MCBS community in the Diocese of Irinjalakuda came into existence in 2002. By accepting the responsibility of the pastoral care of the Mechira Parish we began our service in the Diocese. While staying in the parochial house we started a CBSE school in the name of our founder Rev Fr Mathew Alakalam. Thus the school is known as Fr Mathew Alakalam Public School (MAPS). After purchasing a plot of land close to the Church, we began the construction of the school building and the foundation stone was laid on the 3rd January 2005. Later the school was shifted to the newly constructed building in June 2006. In 2007 the school was affiliated with the CBSE New Delhi. The first batch of Class X graduated in 2010. The school, in accordance with its original vision, has been successful in imparting value based and excellent education to the students from the surrounding places.

VARADANA, Bengaluru

History
The land at Kalkere, Bangalore, was registered on February 2nd 2003 with the intention of erecting a house of the Zion Province. The future possibility of a Syro-Malabar parish was also intended. The VaradanaMCBS House was blessed by His Grace Mar Ignatius Pinto, the then Archbishop of Bangalore, on 17th March 2004. On 10th February 2009, Varadana Church was declared a Semi Public Church. A new church for the parish was constructed, and it was consecrated by Cardinal George Alanchery, the Major Archbishop of Syro-Malabar Church. At present the parish and the house come under the jurisdiction of the diocese of Mandiya.
JEEVAMRUTHA MCBS HOUSE, Malampuzha

In order to have a Eucharistic Research and Resource , 8 acres of land was purchased in 2004. This house also functions as the Co-ordination of Eucharistic Apostolate in the MCBS Zion Province. The house was blessed and inaugurated by the Superior General on 08th March, 2005.

This house at Porkalam, in the parish of Ennappara in the Archdiocese of Thalassery, was blessed on 2nd October 2006. At present the Ashram serves the pastoral needs of the parishes belonging to the dioceses of Thalassery, Kottayam and Kannur and renders spiritual assistance to the people in the area.

MCBS House at Konnakuzhy is in the diocese of Irinjalakuda. Six acres of land was bought in January 2008 with the intention of starting Priest Home and Home for the Aged.
MCBS BHAVAN, Gadikoppa

The history of the San Jos Industrial Training Institute goes back to the year 1989, when it was established as a non-formal industrial training Institute for the dropout children of the less privileged community. In August 29, 1998, San Jos was accorded Government recognition and affiliated to National Council for Vocational Training, Delhi (NCVT). When Shimoga MCBSBhavan became the ofBhadravati diocese in 2007, San Jos ITI became the headquarters of the whole Karnataka Mission of MCBS.

The land at Paduva Sadan, Iduvally, was bought in the year 1989 and the boarding for high school boys was started in the same year. This was raised to the status of a MCBS House in 1994. At present there is the High School Boys’ boarding and St. Antony’s High School and Farm are under the Paduva Sadan MCBS House.

JEEVA JYOTHI, Agumbe

About 16 acres of land together with a building was purchased at Agumbe in Shimoga district with the aim of starting a house of the Congregation. The house was inaugurated on 17th Sept. 1991. A new building was constructed for Friends of Birds of the Air and there are about 15 inmates at present. The congregation of the Little Sisters of Christ has opened a house and they assist in the service to the FBA.

In view of extending the activities of the congregation to Uttara-Kannada district of Karnataka, a plot of land was purchased in Bhatkal town in 1992. The house and the temporary Chapel were completed and blessed on 25th September 1993. 14 settled families and a few students from different parts of Kerala and a few Konkini Christians participate in the Holy Qurbana on Sundays.

DIVYAPRASADALAYA, Davangere

History
Davangere is a district in central Karnataka. In view of extending the pastoral and social activities to northern parts of Karnataka, the congregation purchased a plot in Davangere city in 1994. His Excellency Bishop Gerald Issac Lobo blessed the new house on 31st August, 2002 and announced St. Joseph’s Church as the parish church for the pastoral care of Syro-Malabar Catholics in Davangere. The new chapel was blessed by Mar Thomas Elavanal, Bishop of Kalyan on 23rd May, 2004. For further developments and expansion, a farm was purchased on 1st July, 2004. Though it comes under the Latin Jurisdiction geographically, at present it comes under the Bhadravathi diocese. We do have here a unit of Jesus Youth including all the nursing students of Davangere

MCBS HOUSE, Koppam

History Besides being a house of the Congregation, this house functions as mission inUttara Kannada district. We started to celebrate Holy Qurbana for the people here in a temporary chapel in 1992. And in 1995 we bought 4.34 acres of land for the house and Church. At present there are 18 Catholic families settled in the area. There are 19 villages around this house. D. S. H. Sisters started their convent in 1995. From September 2007 onwards, we began to celebrate Mass on Sundays for the Catholic students of RNS Nursing School at Murudeshwar.

History KarunaNilaya, home for hearing impaired children, began in 1995 with 3 inmates at Moolakatte by Rev.Fr. Mathew Kizhakkemury MCBS. Students of class I to VII were attending classes at the special school in Shimoga. In 2002 we started the Mother Theresa High School for hearing impaired children. For the First SSLC Batch there were seven students and all of them passed the exam. In October 1994, after the Charismatic Convention, we started the Jordan Mukti Sadan Retreat inMoolakatte and later transferred the same from to Hale Jedikatte. In 2006 we started the primary and higher primary school for hearing impaired. In 2004 the new hostel building was blessed by Mar Gerald Isaac Lobo Bishop of Shimoga Diocese and in 2008 April the new building for the school and ITC was inaugurated by Mar. Joseph Arumachdath Bishop of Bhadravathi Diocese. Mother Theresa School for Hearing Impaired is the recipient of the State Award for the best special school in Karnataka in 2011-12.

History MCBS House Siddapura is our First house in the Diocese of Belthangady and is in the district of Dakshina Kannada. A plot was purchased in 2004 and the house was inaugurated on 21st December 2004. It was declared a parish, dedicated to Infant Jesus, on the same day by His Excellency Mar LawranceMukkuzhy. At present there are 35 Syro- Malabar families, migrants from Kerala. A small Parish at Ajeri also is entrusted to us for pastoral care.

History In view of providing pastoral service to the faithful in the diocese of Belthangadi, Zion Province established this house at Karkala on 6th March 2007. The house was formally blessed and inaugurated on 19th June 2007.
MCBS SNEHASADAN, Luxettipet

The MCBSSnehasadan started to function in a rented house in 2006. In 2007 one acre of land adjacent to the parish church was purchased. Again in 2008 4 acres were bought for a school. In the year 2009 we started Bl. Mother Teresa English Medium School. At present Snehasadan functions as the Mission Headquarters.

With the establishment of MCBSTelangana Mission- Jannaram became a Holy Mass center on 24th Oct 2006. On 15th June 2007 St. Thomas Parish & Bl. Mother Theresa Children’s Home were started in a rented home at Jannaram. On 1st February 2008 Zion province purchased 2.5 acres of land for the development of the centre. The construction of children’s home was started on 1st November 2008.

1.MCBSBhavan at Malkajgiri : This house has been purchased in the year 2007 which is 6 km. away from Secunderabad.
2.The House at Mallapur : This house was started in the year 2012. The purpose of this house is to meet the spiritual
needs of the Syro Malabar Christians in and around Mallapur. This is situated at a distance of 12 Km. away from Secunderabad.
MCBS MISSION, Diphu

History
This is the Central House for our Northeast Mission and it is in Diphu, under the canonical jurisdiction of Diphu Catholic Diocese. Our compound comprises of 18 acre of land. We started our mission in a bamboo house by September 2010. The temporary house and a CBSE School were blessed by His Excellency Bishop John Moolachira, the then bishop of Diphu, and inaugurated by Fr. Augustine Paikkatt, the then Provincial Superior of MCBS Zion Province on 24 February 2011.there has been a hostel cum orphanage for both boys and girls right from the beginning. A new permanent building was constructed later on and it was blessed on 11th April 2015.

St. Alphonsa Parish is entrusted to the MCBS in Perpetuam. The mission parish was officially blessed on 25 January 2012 by His Excellency Bp. Andrew Marak D.D, Bishop of Tura and inaugurated by the then Provincial Rev. Fr. Jose Mullangattil. The parish comprises of 46 Garovillages. There is an English medium school (St. Alphonsa English medium school) and a boys’ hostel attached to it. The Vincesian sisters came for service in March 2015.

MCBS MISSION, BAJENDOBA, Tura

History
This parish was entrusted to the MCBS for ten years on the basis of a contract. It was inaugurated and blessed by His Lordship Bp. Andrew Marack. – Bishop of Tura Diocese on 7th Jun 2014. The parish comprises of 47 villages. The FCC sisters came to the mission for service on 7th February 2015. Apart from this Fr. Thomas Kaniyankunnel is working in Mendipathar parish, in the diocese of Tura and learning the language and culture
